Boosting productivity in the office with flowers!

It’s a difficult business climate and it’s more important than ever to boost the productivity of your office employees. In order to stay ahead from the competition, it’s imperative for businesses to create new and effective ways to boost satisfaction ratings and morale, because the best businessmen know that a happy worker is a good worker. Read on for the link between productivity and flowers.

Flowers are the answer. Studies show that exposure to flowers reduces stress, anxiety and depression. It can even improve memory. The research has shown that having a lovely flower arrangement in the office affects everybody in a positive way; men, women, young and old, flowers don’t discriminate!

Having flowers in place for the office also boosts productivity. People in office spaces with orchids for example, have shown to generate more ideas, have found more and better solutions to everyday obstacles, and were just straight thinking better. On the flip side, the people from offices with no flowers or plants performed worse.

Plants provide a wide range of benefits for our health, especially if we spend a long time indoors. Believe it or not indoor air can be more polluted than the air from outside, which can lead to significant consequences for your health.

Because of the usual crowding in the office place, there are higher carbon dioxide levels. These increased levels of CO2 can cause headaches, drowsiness and affect concentration. Plants counteract that by photosynthesis. Office plants can absorb the excess CO2 and enrich the indoor atmosphere with oxygen, reducing the air pollution throughout the office.

Having flowers around the office can be especially beneficial throughout the winter and summer months where the climate extremes in temperature can influence the humidity in the office spaces. The recommended air humidity range is between 30 and 60 percent and having plants can help balance that out for a more comfortable and refreshing office environment.

So what do you guys think? Has anybody noticed the positive effect of having flowers in your workspace ?
